Bucket-elevator apparatus. - In liquid-raising apparatus of the kind comprising one or more pistons 1 mounted on an endless cable 4 which travels through a barrel 8 and over a pulley 5, the pistons are shaped to conform to the periphery of the pulley in order to prevent excessive bending of the cable. The pistons are mounted on the cable by means of tapered washers 2, 3. as in Fig. 1, or by a single washer and a union nut 9 as in Fig. II. The widened ends of the cable are fixed in two pistons 10, 10<a> united by a screwed sleeve 11.
