Signs; name and number plates.- In a sign of the kind having an inclined reflector d adapted to direct light descending from above through the characters a, the latter are of raised transparent or translucent form. The characters may be made from moulded or pressed glass or celluloid, and may have flat translucent or transparent borders c which may be of a different colour to the characters. The border may be plain, as shown, or it may be in the form of "sparks," or regular or irregular openings. The reflector may have a crinkled surface, and an artificial light may be provided out of the path of the daylight.
